MoMA and Paper Tiger

On Feb. 11 several of us from this class participated in the Paper Tiger workshop for designing a new type of “radical” media. We were split up into groups and given four hours to come up with an idea and make a presentation. Three groups would be selected to present their work at the MoMA on Friday, Feb. 24.

I was in a group with Jimena, Maria, Nathaniel, and Sara, and I am happy to say that our project was selected as a finalist! We are going to the MoMA!

Our new “radical” media idea was ‘Hood Hub, a community-owned network that would assist immigrants in breaking down the language barriers that exist when moving to a new country. There were many other great ideas presented that day. Congratulations to everyone else in class who participated.

If anyone in class is interested in coming to the presentation this Friday, all the details can be found on the MoMA website. I’m pretty sure we can get free passes for anyone who would like to attend. Just let me know by Tuesday so I can request them in advance. Hope to see some of you there!

Congrats to everyone in the team for this excellent opportunity – I love the concept of the Hod Hub – look forward to seeing it at the screening in MOMA on Friday… lets get everyone in class to come too.
