I received the following from the listserv nonsensenyc. Because we’ll be learning about Arduino, I thought that if someone takes a keen interest in it and quickly develops skills, that person might be interested in applying those skills here.
Einstein on the Beach
I am currently working with one of five creative teams that are re-imagining/re-creating Philip Glass’s Einstein on the Beach. The performance will run April 5-8 and the Baryshnikov Art Center. We will start rehearsals in mid-March and move into the space at the end of March/beginning of April.
Marcia Morales, the director for the team, is looking for someone with expertise using the programs Arduino and Isadora in conjunction with Infrared technology to do three primary things throughout our team’s portion of the performance: 1. Projecting a train tracks that will follow behind a toy train generated using infrared technology to track the trains movement. 2. Projecting either light or images on a performer as he crosses the stage. 3. Creating a video sequence and scene with a 3-D designer that involves the falling of a projected head down projected stairs into a bucket. This sequence will also require a projected hand appear out of a bucket that will bang a gavel.
